The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is the largest art museum in the United States. Its permanent collection contains more than two million works of art from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, sculptures from nearly all the European masters and an extensive collection of American and modern art. Notable objects from The MET include: Perseus With the Head of Medusa, Brancusi's Sleeping Muse and The Bust of Marsyas.
