To celebrate the upcoming launch of the new Verbatim 3D Printing Filament Range, we’re launching brand new 3D design competition!
The Verbatim Filament Range includes a new  flexible 3D printing material in the form of Primalloy and is brought to you by Mitsubishi Chemicals - the company behind Verbatim.
MyMiniFactory and Verbatim are calling on you to come up with your most creative, most mind bending, most awesome 3D designs yet.
Entries into this competition will be some of the very first objects to be printed with the new Verbatim Filament. This is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved with this brand new product, and associate your designs with its launch! 

The sky is the limit for this competition, however there are two specific themes which your design will need to fall under:

Theme 1 - London

In light of the London 3D Print show kicking off on the 21st of May, for the first theme we are asking you to come up with all things London. Landmarks, monuments, sculpture, culture! Anything goes as long as it is inspired or influenced by this incredible city.  These designs will all be printed with the new Vebatim PLA and ABS - spec sheets for PLA can be found here, and ABS here - please take these into account when creating your designs.
Check out the London section of Scan the World for some inspiration, but keep in mind your design does not have to be a sculpture or landmark - want to realise your favourite football teams emblem in 3D? Go for it!

Theme 2 – Flexibility

For the second theme we are tasking you with designing something flexible in order to make the most of Verbatim’s brand new Primalloy Flexible filament range.
Design anything you want, as long as it makes sense to print in flexible filament and takes advantage of the following advanced properties of Verbatim’s Primalloy:

•Flexibility/Stretch fatigue

•Mechanical strength

•Oil resistance

An octopus? Yes. An anvil? Not so much. If you can justify in your description why it needs to be printed in Primalloy Flexible Filament, then we’ll print it. Here are the specs for Verbatim Primalloy, please consider its unique properties when creating your designs.

When designing for flexible filament there are a few things to keep in mind. It is generally more difficult to print with this material and as such you should consider these factors to make sure you design prints well:
•The less support the better! Try and design completely support free for the best result, this means no overhangs!
•Try and avoid sharp angles, try and round out your edges for best results.
•Tall thin structures are very difficult to print, only use these if it is entirely necessary.

Otherwise there are no other restrictions, be as creative as you can!

•Submit your design using the green "upload" button below
•You can enter as many times as you like, and into either theme, please just make it clear which theme you are entering into in the description box.
•If your design is in multiple parts, please make sure you submit all parts -as STLS- with instructions or diagrams of how they fit together.
•Each part of your design must fit within a build volume of 18x18x18cm.
•If you have any special instructions for your design, please let us know in the description box.
•This is a global competition and you can enter regardless of your location.
