This model is a model of an aviation piston engine used in aircraft in the 1910s, more than 100 years ago.
While the material and processing technology has not been developed, it has the structure that has been conceived with wisdom.
There were various similar engines in this era, but this model has the following features.
① Rotating Cylinder (for cooling purpose) and Cases (mostly made of steel and machined)
② Crankshaft fixed to the fuselage
③ Valve arrangement
- Inlet valve: Built in the top of the Piston, opened and closed by the internal pressure of the cylinder.
- Exhaust valve: Mounted on the top of the Cylinder, opened and closed with a push rod.
③ Exhaust valve opening / closing gears, plate cams and tappets
④ Gear unit for driving High-pressure Magnetic Generator (Magneto), Lubricating Oil Pump
⑤ Intake tube and throttle valve connected to the inside of the crankcase.
⑥ Ignition Distributor, Cable, Spark plug
⑦ Wooden Propeller (dummy)
Add the hand-turn knob (tool) (Magneto, Oil pump)
In addition, the device that rotates with a 6V battery motor can be added. (See video)
[Note] : If you installed motor, turn knobs can not be used because the rotating drag of motor reduction gears is too big.
It is a rotation model, but the inside can be partially observed.
