Design Brief

Summer is around the corner and we just can't wait - we have another design challenge for you!

It is getting hotter and hotter by the day and we think it's time to take your 3D prints outside. We have partnered up once again with Tinkercad to make this happen and we want you to design something you can use in the great outdoors.

Your design must have something to do with summer, fun and outdoors. Think water guns, boomerangs, and birdhouses - that's what we want to see!

Make sure you design the object on Tinkercad’s easy-to-use software and upload it directly to MyMiniFactory using the built-in “Upload to MyMiniFactory button”. Don’t forget to tag your creation in the description or title using #Tinkerfun.

Once your design has been uploaded and approved on MyMiniFactory, make sure you share it on Twitter with the hashtag #Tinkerfun @MyMiniFactory @Tinkercad @Snapmaker.

A panel of judges from MyMiniFactory and Tinkercad will decide on their favorite designs based on your originality, printability, and element of surprise!

Top Tips

So you want to win a design competition?
Here are some top tips to help you climb up the leader board:

1. Think about your design(s) in relation to the brief and how best you might best optimise it for 3D printing.

2. Make sure you download all designer resources so as to ensure you design for the right size components if you are not printing your own submission.

3. Make sure to upload your design from within Tinkercad. Look at our blog post here for more information on how to do this.

4. Once your design is approved, post it on twitter with #Tinkerfun @MyMiniFactory @tinkercad @Snapmaker

  • Thinkabout how you can best deliver a solution.
  • Use the tips and resources provided
  • Explain the concept behind your design.
