One of my first attempts at a more difficult design to print and I can not tell you the sense of satisifaction you will get once you finish printing it!
I was inspired by ancient Egypt and Queen Cleopatra.
It is basicly a shallow bowl or plate supported on legs that transform along their horizontal axis.
I printed it in clear and got the jewel-like effect I wanted using cubic infill.
It is very large but scales down well I have printed it out at 50%
- It is very difficult to print see printing tips.
- Print this on a raft to reduce the below problems (but still upside down)
- This really NEEDS to be printed up side down
- Make sure your build plate is CLEAN as the bottom becomes the (very large) top
- Be very care full when removing the print as the large area sticks very well
I printed one right-side up and still I have not finished removing all the support material
- If you can print with disolvable supports great
Upside down the legs 'can' print without support but don't quote me
- Print speed 20mm/s 10mm/s would be better
- Layer height 0.2mm Layer height of 0.1 is a better idea
- Walls 0.8mm
- Either way you will have a print time of many days
