ABOUT
YoRHa No.9 Type S (Scanner) or 9S is the protagonist of Branches B and D in the video game NieR:Automata (developed by PlatinumGames and published by SquareEnix), as well as the final boss of Branch C. 9S is a scanner type android. He has an attack function, but it is an android that specializes in investigative purposes—a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa, who triumphs in hacking-based information collection.
This is a fan art 3D printed replica of 9S from the video game Nier Automata. Design was sculpted in zBrush and 3D printed in ABS from Meltink3d on a Powerspec Ultra 3D printer and then afterwards spray painted with an airbrush gun.
Print at 0.2 mm with 20% fill.

First of all thansk to Tanya Wiesner for this great sculpt from an awesome game. This print is 0.1 mm layer height at 45 mm/s set speed. Sliced with Simplify 3D. Model height is 200 mm. Reworked the original model to use non-planar cuts where the arms attach to the shoulders so that the join is not so obvious and a key is not required. Did the same for the legs so they are well inside the shorts. The "potato chip" surfaces naturally key with each other and join easily and strongly with just a dab of super glue. Printed the torso upside down so no support is required beyond the shoulders which yielded a nice clean print. Printed the arms hands down so they only needed support around the hand. Printed at 15 mm/s up to the wrist for each arm and then 45 mm/s after that to ensure the fingers printed well (took three tries to figure this out!)
