Arsen Avetisian (1971-2004) was a renowned Armenian and Russian sculptor.
He was born in Armenia into an artistic family and followed in the footspteps of his parents by decided to take on art professionally. He graduated from Yerevan Art and Theater Institute. After graduation, he moved to St. Petersburg, Russia, to further his career in art.
Following his migration, he became a member of the union of Russian Artists and published over 200 works since, including monumental sculptures in the city of St. Petersburg, where he lived. He participated in more than 100 exhibtions since 1993 and his works are in museums and private collections in many countries of the world.
This piece shows the allegorical image of the philosopher of life - the jester - sitting on a pile of books, reflecting on the "Little Prince" by Antoine Exupery that's in his hands.
