Introducing -
Unbeatable Beats!
The boom box design that flows with the music...
Unbeatable Beats is my portable speaker set that cuts no corners with curves!
I've designed some speaker sets that you can position the speakers and hang them on the wall.
This time I wanted to create an all in one design,
Increasing the portability (left free to roam, cables love nothing more than to tangle themselves when your back is turned)
Everthing in this set is contained.... with the exception of the auxilary jack - that cant get into to much trouble on it's own anyway!
This product was made possible by the 3W Class D Stereo Amplifier available online from KitroniK
The stereo kit shown naked below;
Kitronik have become by far my favourite choice when going for some DIY electronics, simply due to how easy they make the 'electonics' part of the project:
-The kit comes with a step-by-step booklet on how to assemble it.
-All of the components are numbered & their place and number are written on the circuit board.
You'll need to know how to use a soldering iron - but not much more!
The circuit board is set out with plenty of space - so mistakes, and messy soldering won't ruin your day!
The kit costs £16.50 ($25) and the sound quality is great
Much of the time we revert to the mindset that commerical speakers are better quality - afterall it's their industry, they understand creating products with good sound quality better?
I can happily say I was wrong here the price of the kit (£16.50) ($25) better than the cost of many available - and the sound quality is great
Before casting any aspersions on home made kits, have a listen to the sound quality here, even taken with a phone mic!
This was printed using a Replicator 2, unfortunately the length of the speakers means they're too large for some bed plates
The parts were printed in PLA at a layer height of 0.2mm
You can increase the layer height here for a faster print, but will begin to show more of a stepped effect along the curves.
If you love the design (which I hope you do) bring the layer height down even further to really create the smooth curves of the design.
The circuit board clips into place at the front of the design and the speakers fit snugly into the case so can just be placed in.
Finish everything by positioning the cable for the auxiliary jack in the hole at the back of the case - and clip on the top!
