I printed Steve Campbell's excellent Grumpy Pumpkin model.
When I showed it to a friend, he said, 'that would be really cool if you could put a light source inside'.
A carved pumpkin with a light inside? What an original idea :)
So, I split off a little bit from the top. Also a few mm off the bottom to let it sit flat on the BP.
It was printed in colorFabb XT transparent copolyester material at 200 micron step. There were overhangs that didn't fill in completely, but it still looks pretty great. This would be equally awesome in white with colored LEDs on the inside or GITD with UV LED.
Print the bottom as a vase. Print the top with about 7% infill or so to get a nice fill. Drop an LED tealight or some other light source inside (maybe not a canalde...) Print at 0.2 mm layer height, with 10% infill. This uses 901 g of filament and takes 2862 minutes.

Inland Translucent Orange PETG, .2 layer height, 0% infill, 4/top/bottom layers, 2 shells. I did cut the model flatter for my liking, the model is not really flat on the build plate. My plan is to add a light into the bottom after drilling a hole, and it should light up nicely with only 2 shells.
