Key facts - Distance between center for x smooth rod and x leadscrew - 22mm
Updates - 12/11/2017
Added version with 44mm distance between x smooth rod centers.
Fractional change to dimensions of tension part for improved fit.
Added variant of 44mm distance version for users who tension on the carriage rather than via the idler.
The sets:
46mm distance between x smooth rods set:
1x x_motor_Angular.stl
1x x_idler_Angular.stl
1x x_tension_Angular.stl
44mm distance between x smooth rods set:
1x x_motor_Angular_44mm.stl
1x x_idler_Angular_44mm.stl
1x x_tension_Angular_44mm.stl
44mm distance between x smooth rods without x tension:
1x x_motor_Angular_44mm.stl
1x x_idler_Angular_44mm_no_tension.stl
This is my second version of the x axis parts - motor, idler and external tension part.
I created this version because my previous design obstructs access to the x motor pulley grub screws which makes adjustment more awkward than necessary.
It retains the interior angles to aid in printing without supports wherever possible. The only part that should require supports is the tensioning part. Supports should be placed under the screw hole at the bottom of the model, in the middle where the x idler pulley is mounted and under the two parts that enter the side of the x idler part.
Each model is designed to be printed in the orientation presented in the files.
As usual I would consider making variations on the design if someone particularly wants an internal x idler (for example).
Resolution:
Printed in 0.16mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle
Infill:
Printed with 36% honeycomb infill. Print with lower infill if you wish.
Notes:
Supports for the tensioner part only. I tend to print with a brim of 4 perimeters to give me something to get the scraper under when attempting to remove the part from the build plate.
