Description
An inscription at the top of the stele gives the name and lineage of the deceased as 'Lil, son of Sa'adillat of the Qaryot tribe, followed by a curse invoking Venus (worshipped in southwestern Arabia as the male god 'Anthar) on anyone who destroys the stele. The top register depicts a banquet scene, with 'lil seated at right and a female musician playing a stringed instrument, either a lyre or a lute. The lower register shows 'lil riding a horse and driving a camel before him, possibily a reference to camel herding or caravan trade as the source of his wealth
