Description
This amphora comes from Apulia. The piece was created around 330 BC. On one side of the 37 cm high amphora is a woman looking to the left. This is decorated with a leaf wreath, trapezoidal earrings and a double pearl necklace. On the other side of the vessel you can see a right-facing eros sitting on a rock. The winged personification of love is richly decorated.
Apulian vase painting was a regional style of South Italian vase painting from ancient Apulia. It comprises geometric pottery and red figure pottery.
