Feast your EYES upon these EYES!
Demo Video Here: https://youtu.be/ND9kEYqh2O8
These EYES are a fully mechanically functional toy/display piece. They can look left and right and the eyelids can open and close, offering a lifelike performance. The model assembles with only one drop of glue (to attach the pupils), the rest is 100% snap together assembly. Makes for a great gift, conversation piece, or educational tool to explore simple mechanisms. So what are you waiting for? Get your own pair today!

Some slicers may import the STL's at a 90 degree angle, to remedy this just rotate the model back 90 degrees in your slicer.
There's a lot of files here, here are my best tips for success in printing them.
There are three sets of eyes in here, Large, Small, and Cyclops. Make sure to print all the files from the same name. You can scale the eyes however you'd like but I can't guarantee success as the models have been optimized for these sizes. The small eyes are 50% the size of the large eyes.
Supports: None of these files should need supports to successfully print.
Basic Settings: I ran all my prints at 60 mm/s, .2mm layer height, and around 195 degrees (PLA filament).
Blank Face/Smiling Face: Only print one. Orient the print as photographed.
Eyelids: I recommend printing with a Brim because of how thin the piece is. There is a flat edge and a not flat edge, make sure to rotate the STL in your slicer so that the flat side is on the print bed.
Eyeballs: Print with the flat side oriented on the print bed.
Iris: Print with a brim as well. If you print this with a lighter filament color you can always sharpie in the inset like I did with the larger pair of eyes.
Look L/R: Print with the flat surface on the print bed.
Cyclops Keychain: Has a keychain ring hole built in, as pictured.
Assembly:
- First, glue the Irises into the Eyeballs with a small dab of hot glue. You might want to sand the Irises down a little first to better fit them into the Eyeball's cavity.
- Then, place the Eyeballs onto their posts in the Face. You may have to apply a little pressure but they will fit in snugly.
- Next, place the Eyelids onto their perch inside the Face.
- Finally, add the Look L/R to the posts coming out the back of the eyes.
