Edit: Go for updated_r2, there are adjusted some parts and tolerances. Also it is better to glue not moving parts together, for it would work better..
I decided to try this challenge last minute, so I was not able to print it yet. I just finished designing. I designed it to be printable without supports. It seems to be slicible. The deadline was till 28.4.2017 and I sent it 28.4.2017, so I hope I can be part of it :D
I hope it is going to work, for now it was spinning only in my head and it is not tested. But I believe it will work! :)
I used paper and pen for first ideas, then i went for 3d sketch in tinkercad(just primitives), after that I designed this completely in Fusion360. It threw me objects in different orientations, so I used Blender for the final aligning to plate and reseting rotations.
Have fun!
This is nicely designed to require no supports, but you will need to separate the parts to print at full scale on printers smaller than 200mm x 200mm. I used a bit of glue to hold the cube parts together.
