Alexander Tiez (1896 - 1978) was a teacher, ethnographer and writer of the German language in Romania. On the 6th October 2004 this bronze bust of Tiez was unveiled in front of the new German Youth Centre, sculpted by Bucharest artist Horia Flamandu. The bust was unveiled by the last descendant of Tiez, Professor Damian Fox in Timisoara.
