GoPro Mount Snap-ins for Polypanel Face Snap System (#PPFSS)
GoPro Mount Snap-ins for Polypanel Face Snap System (#PPFSS)

These GoPro-style mounts snap into the faces of polypanels that are compatible with my Polypanel Face-Snap System so you can mount action cameras onto a square, rhombus, rectangle, pentagon, or any other polypanel shape that has the standard-sized receiving ring used in the Polypanel Face-Snap System (Download the basic set of PPFSS panels here).
Kudos to Brodie Fairhall (@brodie) for the original idea of integrating GoPro mounts onto the faces of polypanels. My design updates his concept so that you don't have to print a separate GoPro mount for each polypanel shape you might want to use.
There are actually two mounts in this download. The three-pronged mount allows you to mount your GoPro camera onto your polypanel creations while its two-pronged counterpart allows you to mount your polypanel creations onto anything a GoPro can be mounted on (e.g., a tripod mount, suction cup mount, helmet mount, etc.).
The Polypanel Face-Snap System allows you to connect many different kinds of snap-in discs into the faces of polypanels that do different things and mix and match them with different polypanel shapes. I've developed several other snap-ins that are compatible with the system including:
- -a connector to join faces together in a way that allows them to rotate,
- -multilingual lettering, and
- -a snap-in loop for hanging up your polypanel creations.
Kudos also to Devin Montes (@makeanything) for developing the original polypanel system that my PPFSS is an extension of.
Supports aren't necessary, but there may be some imperfections around the recessed area where the nut is insterted that you will need to clean up.
You will probably also need to sand or file the surfaces inside the vertical prongs to make sure they are smooth and free of burrs after printing. The original GoPro mounts are very smooth so have very little friction which allows you to adjust the angle easily when the bolt is loosened.
