Another fun exercise in assembling vase-mode parts! And this one will test your printer's sense of balance...
I actually really like the shape of this vase even without the stripes inserted - those chunky inset grooves have such a tactile sense to them! The colours do really add something, though, and putting things together is half the fun.
Do read the printing tips below, though - those stripes are pretty crazy! Completely doable, though!
Have fun!
So, this is all intended for printing in vase mode, as you've already guessed (that's Spiralize Outer Contour in Cura). The stripes, however, look so unbalanced in that print preview! Have a look in the attached photos, though - you'll see one stripe happily standing up during the print. Being so light, they balance very well based on bed adhesion alone. I was printing on bare glass with no adhesive, so I added a brim, but if I'd been printing on BuildTak or similar, I wouldn't have bothered with that.
So, the other consideration is the tolerance of the stripes in the vase. I've deliberately made them relatively loose, for ease of assembly, but you could of course tighten them up a bit by using your slicer's option for expanding the outer perimeter. It's a convex shape, so there won't be any undue consequences for doing so!
