Hello everyone, I absolutely love the little prince my sister'n law introduced it to me a few years ago and I fell in love so when I saw this competition I knew I had to enter.
I have not kept these files up to date they are the originals I released there is nothign wrong with them however if thee are future changes they will be on my gumroad @ plasticarcade instead. It is unlikely these files will ever change though!
All files are for peronal use only Non-Commercial, both physical and digital files.
Be Blessed and dont steal enjoy the blessings with free files and go make your world!
I wanted to make something both creative, artistic and fuctional. I feel it really fits the 'le petit prince' world as it is a an imaginitive and creative story and universe that takes you on a beautiful adventere, so as such I wanted to create something I am equally excited about.
What I have doen is not only create a piece of art but create art that others can personalize themselves. I wanted somthing where you the artist can modify add to or personalize my own creation making it your own creation. in fact you can download all the other amazing little price characters and objects and personalize a planet of your own, or just use the supplied little and fox characters.
And if you feel as creative as you do adventurous you can add some lights and turn your beautiful diorama into an amazing little prince lamp to light up your own life or your bedside as you sit in bed and read perhaps the little prince.
My Lamp
I made mine personally to look like blown glass globe with old porcelain style figures and I decided to add lights to make it light up as well, like a blown glass lamp. I used anigque gold rub'n buff on the stand leaving the some black plastic to show through. The globe is printed in clear plastic and dyed with ink to give that blown glass look and the figures I painted with acrylic paints then did several coats of gloss medium a think resin to give it that glossy glass/porcelain like look then I did gold leaf on the belt and buttons and ankle cuffs around the shoes like those old porcelain figures would sometimes have and I tarnished it a bit to give an aged look.
-------------------
I have provided both light up and non light files so if you wish to only print the planet with the characters you can to so without the electronics, however I encourage you to try as I have also supplied different pieces so that you can do wiered and battery versions or get as crazy as you want. I even included a base for an LED tea candle or you can use plug in fairy lights from amazon no electronics expertice required.
I encourage everyone to just have fun with it and create an imaginitive world of your own.

FILES
I also included characers with holdes in hte feet so you can put 4mm x 2mm magnets in the feet so the characers can be removed
As I said above you can wire your own lights, use battery or USB or an already wired LED light.
There are lots of options available to create your own piece.

PRINTING
Most of the files can print without support but I still reccomend some minimal supports for some of the pieces just for a cleaner print
The flat foot prince and fox should print fine without any support though they can be printed either way.
The globe / planet I printed with no supports and it printed beatufully. As I said most of the piees print fine without supports.
The figures and stand/base were printed in black hatchbox PLA at 200c 55c bed temp at 100 micron layer height.
The globe and interanal parts were printed in t-glase clear plastic at a temp of 240c and a 75c bed temp 100 micron layer height.
the whole thing took about 2-3 days to print.
Most of the files do not require and support to print, the fiures include both support free and support needed versions. This can be printed on FDM or SLA printers.
THere are two different formats tha can be printed, 1) no electronics just for display purposes, 2) with internal electronics for lamp function, also includes a wired version center stanson that can be used to hide a wire inside if using a plug in lamp style.
I printed everything in 100 micron layer heights on an ultimaker 2, I used clear PLA for the globe and internal parts and black hatchbox PLA for everything else. It was then painted and assembled.
Also comes with a parts list and basic assembly diagram for help with which parts to print and with the assembly process.
I sued no special settings for this print, should print easily.
