The M18A1 Claymore is a directional anti-personnel mine developed for the United States Armed Forces. Its inventor, Norman MacLeod, named the mine after a large Scottish medieval sword. Unlike a conventional land mine, the Claymore is command-detonated and directional, meaning it is fired by remote-control and shoots a pattern of metal balls into the kill zone like a shotgun. The Claymore can also be victim-activated by booby-trapping it with a tripwire firing system for use in area denial operations.

***STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS *** As of August 18th ~ 0400.

This is my take on the M18A1 Claymore. I've been working on this idea in my head for a week or two, but I have 3 other projects I'm working on at the moment so I haven't gotten around to actually making this until yesterday, August 17th. And only because I realized that in order to win I need a few days to generate likes (I don't have any social media accounts, not my thing). It took me all day to refine the design (mostly in my head) to what you see now. And I'm positive it'll only need one or two revisions before I'm happy with it. It is printing out right now, so I won't be able to test it out until today or tomorrow. But it's based on the King of Random's "Micro Grenades" and Poor Man's Thunder's "The Neutralizer", so I'm confident that it'll have enough power.

The only thing I'm unsure of is how quickly the gas pressure will build up within the claymore, after escaping the expansion chamber. The vinegar/baking soda reaction takes place in the expansion chamber, once the lid pops off the gasses rush through a narrow passage, increasing velocity, before reaching the bb's and propelling them out. However, that's a relatively small concern at the moment. 

Clear instructions and maybe a diagram for assembly and function coming too.

Anyway, time to sleep. When I wake up I'll get the extra materials needed (springs, thumbtacks, some sort of gasket material, epoxy, camping stakes), finish printing, finish firing pins, test, revise. 

**UPDATE-August 19 ~0340** I'm still printing everything out. Some files have been updated but I'm waiting to replace all of the uploaded files at once. A new pic of what is finished printing so far. Should have everything assembled today, revised files after testing tomorrow. Looks promising so far.**

**UPDATE-August 19 ~ 1330** Just uploaded teaser pic. Everything is just about done. Only missing the shipping plugs and a few more parts, I'll get those later and I'll be testing it out. Also, parts for this run around $15-$20 depending on materials you have on hand. I was out of epoxy and gasket material so I bought everything, and I forgot two smaller springs and two large nails, as the stakes, so total cost for everything will be around $20. My moms b-day party is today though, so I might not get everything done by tonight. But tomorrow is all day testing and revisions. Stay tuned.**

**UPDATE**-August 19 ~2300** Everything is printed out and almost completely assembled, I just havent wanted to epoxy everything in place just yet.. In the latest pic you can get a sense of how it works. Getting small springs, stakes, and bb's tomorrow. Testing and revisions tomorrow too.**

**UPDATE**-August 23 ~0115** I just uploaded the latest versions of the shell, blasting cap, and burst cap. I also made a few descriptive pictures so people know what they're looking at. Instructions coming today.

     I ALSO HAVE AN MM-1 (MINIMORE, SPEC OPS CLAYMORE) VERSION IN MIND. IN THEORY, IT'S DESIGN IS MORE SUITED TO MY DETONATION MECHANISM. AND I HAVE A GRENADE DESIGN IN MIND THAT I WANT TO TRY NOW (I ACTUALLY STARTED WITH A GRENADE, BUT BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET A TRIGGER MECHANISM FIGURED OUT I SWITCHED TO THE CLAYMORE, THEN AFTER DESIGNING EVERYTHING ON THE CLAYMORE I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO COME UP WITH AS SIMPLE OF A MECHANISM THAT I COULD...IN ONE DAY...AND THAT MECHANISM WILL WORK ON THE GRENADE, IT'LL JUST HAVE TO UTILIZE RUBBER BANDS ASWELL).
